In contrast to Americans, the Chinese people put their family names first followed by their given names. So when asking a Chinese person about his/her name, he/she will tell you his/her family name first and will give his/her full name upon your second request.
The vowel “ü” is written as “u” according to the Pinyin rules.

1. What’s your last name ?

你nǐ贵guì姓xìng？

2. My family name is Wang .

我wǒ姓xìng王wáng。

3. And what’s your full name?

你nǐ-的de全qüán名míng是shì什shén么me？

4. I’m called Wang Ying.

我wǒ 叫jiào王wáng英yīng。

5. May I know your full name?

请qǐng- 问wèn 你nǐ-的de姓xìng-名míng？
