Passive Voice (A)

The word Bei (被 ) is used to show the passive voice in Chinese.

1. They have invited us to visit China.

他tā-们mén邀yāo-请qǐng我wǒ-们mén访fǎng-问wèn中zhōng-国guó。

2. We were invited by them to come here.

我wǒ- 们men 被bèi 邀yāo- 请qǐng 访fǎng- 问wèn 这zhè- 里lǐ。

3. Her friend invites her to a birthday party.

她tā- 的de 朋péng- 友yǒu 邀yāo- 请qǐng 她tā 参cān- 加jiā生shēng-日rì聚jǜ-会huì 。

4. She is invited to a birthday party.

她tā被bèi邀yāo-请qǐng参cān-加jiā生shēng-日rì聚jù-会huì。

5. We were asked to attend a meeting.

我wǒ-们mén被bèi邀yāo参cān-加jiā会huì-议yì。
